Drip irrigation is the most efficient and the only legal watering method for gardens in Sydney. Very little water is wasted through wind evaporation or overspray. The technology has come a long way since we have recognised that we are a drier continent.

NB: In an increasingly dry continent this is our best option – countries with higher annual rainfall than Australia have been required to use drip irrigation system as the only method for watering gardens for many years.
